Slowly but surely, I started making my game more and more like HLD. I seriously fell in love with this game, and when I found out that it was made using GMS 1.4, which I had already been working with a bit, I knew what I wanted to do. I looked up the lore, I checked out all the videos on YouTube channel, check out their website and bought a hoodie and the art book. I was out of inspiration and I still wasn't very good at anything. I was losing hope and stopped working on my game for a little while. I had tried following a bunch of different tutorials by Heartbeast but I always did something a little different and messed it up. I got to work, and eventually I had a piece of garbage that still hadn't gone anywhere. I was blown away and inspired that all it took was one guy and GMS 1.4 to make it, and I wanted to do the same. It was going to be a game like Undertale. Hopefully everything that I talk about will be helpful for others to use as inspiration and to make them reach for the stars.Īt first Vearo wasn't actually planned to be anything like HLD. I'll talk about the different games that I've played or watched, how I've grown, and where I'm planning on going with this. I wanted to talk a little about some of the tutorials I've used and the inspirations that lead me to keep working on this project. Just so you can see what the game is like, here's the most recent update video that I've done for it. I've come a long way, but I still have even more to go as this game just gets more and more complicated. I started learning how to code, animate, make music and draw with pixels 2 years ago at the start of summer.
